Volker Bauer

 

Based in the Southwest of Germany, Volker Bauer is Founder, Member of the Board and Treasurer of the European Voices Association, a non-profit organization working to support the development of contemporary vocal, a cappella and rhythmic choral music in European countries. Bauer has been the German CASA ambassador since 1998. During that time he has served as CARA Awards Judge, CASA Vice President (2003-2004) and as CASA regional ambassador for all of Europe.

In 2001 he founded, directed and sung in the semi-pro pop and soul vocal band, "trafficJAM". Until the split-up of the group in 2005, he performed throughout Germany and had frequent appearances on national German radio shows. Bauer was also founder, member and musical director of the amateur septet "Septopus" from 1993 until 1999.

Volker Bauer produces major a cappella festivals in Germany and currently hosts "The" online platform for contemporary a cappella music in the German-speaking area (www.acappella-online.de). This project, begun in 2001, now contains information on more than 500 groups, 800 concert dates, many venues, vocal techniques and more.

By day, Volker Bauer is a computer professional working for Accenture in the consumer goods industry as Vice President of Global Customer Support.
