Pentatonix

Pentatonix are SONY recording artists and the 2011 winners of NBC's TV reality show, "The Sing-Off".

This 5-member a cappella group began with three high school friends, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, and Scott Hoying. These Texas teens arranged a trio version of “Telephone” in the hopes of winning a chance to meet the cast of "Glee". They didn't win the contest, but after getting positive feedback on YouTube, the three decided to audition for NBC's "The Sing-Off". To complete their sound, they added bass, Avi Kaplan and beatboxer, Kevin Olusola. With the five in place, Pentatonix was born!
